Welcome to the world of Maya Art!
Welcome to my artistic world. I'm Marta Jasińska, known professionally as MayaArt, and I invite you to explore the vibrant stories captured in my paintings.
For me, art isn't just a profession—it's an intrinsic part of my identity. My work is fuelled by three powerful muses: the raw energy of Nature, the soul-stirring warmth of Africa, and the timeless allure of Vintage aesthetics.
A Journey Captured in Colour
Every painting is a record of a journey, a moment of fleeting inspiration immortalized on canvas. My creative philosophy is simple: where words fail, the brush speaks.
My pieces are more than just compositions; they are an invitation to a world rich with warmth, depth, and cultural resonance.
-
The Medium: I primarily work with acrylics and mixed media, allowing me to build deep textures and layer complex hues.
-
The Focus: My passion lies in the limitless possibilities of colour and the pure act of creation.
The Canvas as a Diary
Creating is my most intimate form of expression—a personal diary I write with a brush. Through this visual language, I explore and articulate my deepest emotions.
My paintings often encapsulate the essence of my life: my thoughts, fears, and dreams. I paint from a profound need for pure expression, using the canvas as a safe space to release emotions I was once afraid to articulate directly. What you see in my collection is truly the essence of my life laid bare.

Artist Statement: The Weaver of Painted Stories

My art is a journey of translation—a process of taking the unspoken whispers of memory and the raw energy of the world and giving them a permanent home on canvas. I believe that where words fail, the brush speaks; for me, every painting is a personal diary entry, written in the vibrant language of color and texture.

The Three Muses: Africa, Nature, and Time
My creative identity is fueled by three powerful muses that act as the heartbeat of my studio:
-
African Resonance: I am deeply moved by the soul-stirring warmth and rhythmic energy of Africa. I use sunlit ochres, earthy siennas, and bold, rhythmic motifs to capture a sense of grounded strength and ancient vitality. It is a tribute to the raw generosity of nature and the cultural depth that connects us all.
-
Vintage Aesthetics: There is a timeless allure in the "well-loved." I weave nostalgic color palettes and gentle patinas into my work to create pieces that feel like memories worn beautifully. This vintage echo provides a sense of sophisticated calm and mystery, bridging the gap between the past and the present.
-
The Intimacy of Nature: Whether I am mapping the luminous flows of the sea or the textured layers of a landscape, my work is an exploration of the extraordinary harmony found in the natural world.
The Canvas as a Sanctuary
Working primarily in acrylics and mixed media, I build my canvases layer by layer, much like a life is built. I use palette knives and vintage papers to create a tactile surface that invites you to touch with your eyes. These layers represent the complexity of human emotion—the fears, dreams, and quiet joys that I was once afraid to articulate directly.

An Invitation to Connect
I create not just to be seen, but to be felt. My goal is for each painting to act as an "anchor of emotion" in your home—a conversation starter that transforms a space into a sanctuary. I invite you to peer beneath the translucent surfaces of my work and find your own story reflected there.
